For this project we looked to ancient Greece. 900-700 BC was a time of dramatic transformation in Greece. Trade opened up between the Greek city-state and parts of Asia Minor, southern Italy and Sicily. With it came a cultural revival of poetry, architecture and art. Today, Italy is still exceedingly culturally rich. In all of the arts, including music, the visual arts and film. While the Momento Magico harkens back to the ancients, it also looks to a more recent muse, the 1962 film Anima Nera by Roberto Rossellini.
The ancient and the modern. This is the inspiration for the Momento Magico.
The historic past of this pen is expressed in the fretwork on its central band which represents the decoration belonging to this period of artistic awakening which came to be known as “Geometric Art”. Five special resins were chosen to manufacture this writing instrument and it is trimmed in metals that illustrate the artistic glory of this extraordinary time in history.
The colors of the materials were inspired by the Rossellini film and moments found within it.
Emerald a new color, fresh and perfectly in line with the Leonardo philosophy, linking vintage design to new colors
