Platinum #3776 Century Chartres Blue special edition fountain pen with stunning translucent blue barrel.
The Platinum #3776 Century range features the ‘Slip and Seal’ airtight cap. The innovative new cap system uses an inner plastic seal with a strong spring. The primary benefit of this system is improved storage ability – the ink will not dry out even if left for over a year. An added benefit is improved resistance to leaks due to pressure changes.
The #3776 is a modern classic amongst pens – the basic design was created by Platinum in 1978 and variations have been introduced regularly ever since. Here the most enduring and simple design is teamed with a 14k gold ‘music nib’. A music nib is designed for those who demand a bold look to their handwriting and the Platinum Music Nib is a superb example of the art of fine nib-making. The Platinum Music Nib is a true traditional three tined music nib, unlike some modern interpretations which might be more accurately described as ‘soft stub’ nibs. Platinum’s Music Nibs are carefully crafted and individually adjusted to ensure that each one provides a perfect balance between the width of line and a rich, even ink flow. Although these nibs can be used for writing musical notation, they are more commonly used for handwriting.
The barrel is crafted from quality ABS plastic and the metal trim parts are well-finished and gold-plated.
136.5mm long, 14.5mm diameter and weighs 17.8g.

The #3776 name comes from the height in metres of Mt.Fuji.
